The Spirit of Dance

NORA PICKETT IRISH DANCE ACADEMY (NPIDA) students are part of the proud tradition of Irish dance. Irish or not, they range from 3 years old to adult, both male and female. Our dancers thrive on both traditional and modern Irish step dance that includes a combination of hardshoe and softshoe, as well as ceili (group) dance.

Each class brings a renewed sense of accomplishment with a balance between fitness and poise. Instructors are dedicated to creating a fun yet highly disciplined learning environment for students. NPIDA also hosts a number of unique experiences which range from action-packed river raft Irish dance adventure camps, to touring nationally and internationally with Irish dance.

Every year, ALL dancers at NPIDA plus teachers and members of the Eire Born Irish Dance Society join, in partnership, to host our annual Ceili and Year End Show! This year our Ceili will be on May 31st, 2008 so mark your calendars and get ready for some festive Irish spirit, dance, and fun! This is an incredible event for children and family of all ages!

"Irish Dancing provides great cardio exercise and is terrific for self-confidence and co-ordination. Olivia loves the instructors and the whole family loves the year-end performance." Leanne Armstrong (mother of 5 year old)

Getting Eire Born

EIRE BORN IRISH DANCERS are comprised of top dancers from the Nora Pickett Irish Dance Academy. They are a vibrant show group, dynamically trained for local, national, and international performances. Dancers have achieved prizewinner to championship levels of competitive dance and range in age from seven to seventeen. From traditional to more modern Irish dance pieces, they work together to produce an energetic and awe-inspiring show guaranteed to set the stage on fire!

"What gems all of you are! Thank you for being part of my show. I was honoured that such great dancers would go such a great distance to perform with me. You gave me some of your best dancers and the girls were true professionals. They looked great, danced great, and were so nice to be with. I feel very lucky to work with such a wonderful, dedicated team. I look forward to seeing you all again.” Natalie MacMaster, Celtic Fiddler

For the good are always the merry,
Save by an evil chance,
And the merry love the fiddle
And the merry love to dance.
