Courtney Rose started dancing at age 3 with ballet, jazz, tap, Highland and Irish in her repertoire of dance experience. She tried on her first Irish dance shoes and joined Nora on the dance floor as a pre-beginner at the age of 14.
A new passion was eire born. Courtney Rose danced her way to the top in just 8 years.
After 3 years under Nora'a instruction, Courtney entered the Open Championships level and won competitions in both Washington and the Lower Mainland.
As a four-time World Championship competitor, she knows first-hand how practicing faithfully has provided her with a competitive edge and added to her flair on the dance floor. Twice she has placed 1st at the Western Canadian Oireachtas, plus previous 3rd and 4th place achievements. In 2006 and 2007 she received a "recall" to the final round at the North American Championships placing 14th and 26th. She also received a "recall" at the 2007 World Championships where she placed 34th.
Courtney enjoys instructing all levels of Irish dance and has a unique ability to connect with each dancer. She strives to bring out the best in each dancer through positive encouragement and integrating a "fun" element into classes. Courtney practices her creative choreography coming up to the Ceili each year by adding modern steps and ideas to the stage along with funky costumes.
Courtney is currently studying for her TCRG exams under Nora's direction.
Courtney is quick to say, "I have always looked up to Nora. She is an incredibly inspiring dance teacher who has always been there to motivate me and prove to me that hard work pays off!"
